North Wales gear up ahead of Wales Rally GB

Tomorrow will see the 2018 Dayinsure Wales Rally GB kick off Round 11 of the globetrotting World Rally Championship calendar.

The four-day event is headed to the forests of North Wales, as the world’s greatest rally drivers tackle some of the world’s greatest stages. More than 150 competitors will be based in the Deeside Rally Village, as they face 23 speed tests, totalling nearly 200 miles spread over four-days of epic high-speed action.

Sotic client, Wales Rally GB, offers a heavily revised route from the 2017 rally after it was re-designed to be more challenging for the drivers.

The rally starts at the Tir Prince Raceway where drivers face a 69.10 mile first leg. The route then moves into the forests of Conwy and Gwynedd on the 5 October. Leg three will see the event finishing up in the streets of Llandudno on Sunday morning, the first time World Championship motor sport has ever been seen on closed roads in Great Britain.

#TeamSotic have been working with Wales Rally GB since 2007, and this year’s rally will see Sotic’s First Line Team Leader, Greg Miles, at the event to offer on-site support.

“The Dayinsure Wales Rally GB is an event we look forward to all year, as we are not simply fans of fast websites, but fast cars too!” says Greg.

“It was a fantastic experience to provide support on-site last year, and I am sure Sotic will help the Media Team create many memorable moments for the 2018 edition.”
