Only a month to go until The 2018 OVO Energy Tour of Britain
July was packed with exciting and unpredictable cycling that was topped with the first ever Welshmen winning the Tour de France.
Geraint Thomas crossed the finish line on the Champs-Elysees in Paris on Sunday and sealed his place amongst Wales’ sporting elite.
With Sotic’s main office located in Cardiff, the Welsh excitement doesn’t end there. In less than a month The 2018 OVO Energy Tour of Britain Grand Depart will take place on home turf in Carmarthenshire and Newport.
The 174.8 kilometres route is anything but flat, as riders will have to pass through Carmarthen, Brecon and Usk before reaching The City of Newport. There is the possibility that the opening of The Tour of Britain road stage will not finish in a bunch sprint for the first time since 2006.
Sotic client, Sweetspot Group, who run The Tour of Britain, have recently announced the teams who will be taking part in this years race, click here to find out who will be competing.
Last year’s Tour of Britain saw record crowds support the event throughout its eight stages across the country and the website, designed, built and delivered by Sotic, allowed fans great access to information about the stages and the riders.
