Client Login Summer Review featuring Leeds Rhinos, Ireland 2023, Guinness PRO14 & British & Irish Lions So, summer is officially over, at least here at Sotic, signalled by the commencement of competitive rugby union with both the Aviva Premiership and the new-look Guinness PRO14 competitions kicking off last Friday. Here’s a look back at some of the projects we have been working on over the summer. Over the summer months the Guinness PRO12 became PRO14 with the addition of two South African clubs, the Cheetahs and the Kings. We undertook work to effectively re-brand the website, create content sections for the two new clubs, and re-mastered the fixture list, league table and live areas of the site to adopt the conference style set-up of the new league as well an extra match each weekend. We also revamped the match pages on the site (see here for an example) the Overview, Preview, Report, Live and Performance Stats, improving layout and increasing the amount of information available for users. The beginning of September also sees the annual Tour of Britain cycling event take place. This multi-stage competition features some of the world’s top riders and is part of the UCI’s Europe Tour. Sotic have been working with The Tour since 2013 and fans can follow each stage of the event live on their website until the big finish this Sunday in Cardiff, just 300 yards from the Sotic Office. Client Login OVO Energy Tour of Britain 2017 – LIVE The 2017 edition of the UK’s most prestigious cycling race is now underway and you can follow all the action from the Ovo Energy Tour of Britain live at www.tourofbritain.co.uk… The Tour of Britain is a multi-stage cycling even that runs from 3-10th September and is part of the UCI’s Europe Tour. The action got underway on Sunday with Stage 1 beginning in Edinburgh and this year the big finish on 10th September will be in Cardiff, just 300 yards from the Sotic Office. Sotic are delighted to once again be providing the website and digital support for the Tour of Britain. The website was revamped earlier this year with a brand new look that is clean, clear and makes navigation a breeze, while behind-the-scenes it is hosted on AWS and uses the Sotic-enhanced WordPress platform. The ability to filter news and video content through tagging offers fans a much more personalised way to browse and the website also offers a number of commercial opportunities to event sponsors with videos featuring pre-roll advertising and Google’s Doubleclick advertising platform integrated to display both commercial partner and house advertising to maximum effect. Client Login New website launched for Tour of Britain as 2017 route is announced Yesterday evening saw the national launch and route announcement for the 2017 OVO Energy Tour of Britain as well as the unveiling of a new website for the prestigious professional cycle race This site is the second produced in the last few weeks by Sotic for race organisers Sweetspot, with a new site for June’s OVO Energy Women’s Tour launched last week. The 2017 edition of the Tour of Britain, which marks Sotic’s fifth year as the digital provider for the event, will take place from 3-10th September and is set to finish only a few yards from Sotic’s Cardiff office The two new websites have been developed on WordPress, making content updates easier than ever with a simple and intuitive CMS and fast time-to-publish, and are hosted on Amazon Web Services, the most feature-rich and best-performing cloud provider in the world. Built mobile-first, the sites offer a fresh, modern bespoke design and include social walls, google map embeds, galleries, video and improved profile for commercial partners, including OVO Energy who last week were announced as the title sponsors for both races. Client Login Cycling: Countdown to the 2016 Aviva Women’s Tour (15-19th June) The Aviva Women’s Tour gets underway this week from Southwold in Suffolk on Wednesday 15th June. The eyes of the women’s cycling world will be firmly on the UK’s first ever round of the new UCI Women’s WorldTour. Many of the world’s leading riders and teams will be participating in the five stage race which starts on the Suffolk coast and finishes in Northamptonshire. The race will visit seven counties in the heart of England, and there will be a first visit to the Peak District National Park on Stage Three, while Stage Two will head into the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in south Warwickshire. For full route details, click here This is the third edition of the Tour and Sotic have been supporting race organisers from the beginning with provision of the digital platform, www.womenstour.co.uk and support throughout the event. The race will feature some top riders including Team GB’s Lizzie Armistead, Marianne Vos and  double World Champion Giorgia Bronzini,. The  rider list  includes five World Road Race Champions and four World Time Trial Champions, plus 14 different reigning National Road Race Champions.
