New website launched for Tour of Britain as 2017 route is announced

by | Apr 26, 2017

Yesterday evening saw the national launch and route announcement for the 2017 OVO Energy Tour of Britain as well as the unveiling of a new website for the prestigious professional cycle race

This site is the second produced in the last few weeks by Sotic for race organisers Sweetspot, with a new site for June’s OVO Energy Women’s Tour launched last week.

The 2017 edition of the Tour of Britain, which marks Sotic’s fifth year as the digital provider for the event, will take place from 3-10th September and is set to finish only a few yards from Sotic’s Cardiff office

The two new websites have been developed on WordPress, making content updates easier than ever with a simple and intuitive CMS and fast time-to-publish, and are hosted on Amazon Web Services, the most feature-rich and best-performing cloud provider in the world.

Built mobile-first, the sites offer a fresh, modern bespoke design and include social walls, google map embeds, galleries, video and improved profile for commercial partners, including OVO Energy who last week were announced as the title sponsors for both races.

In addition to providing the Tour websites, Sotic also provide on-site event support during the Tour of Britain and support the event organisers with event accreditation software to manage the registration of all media and volunteers, and a bulk mailing platform for press releases and marketing communications.
