From Rio to Loughborough – Sotic supporting elite sport

by | Sep 2, 2016

Just a couple of weeks ago we were supporting World Sailing and the Ladies European Tour and their elite level participants at the Olympic Games in Rio… this weekend it’s the turn of the youngsters at the 2016 School Games.

We’re working with the School Games providing digital support for their 2016 event which is taking place this weekend at Loughborough University and which will involve over 1600 of the nation’s finest young sports stars.

The 2016 School Games is a multi-sport event for the UK’s elite young athletes of school age and provides our elite young sports people with the opportunity to thrive and perform at the highest levels. Olympic swimming gold medallist Adam Peaty competed at the School Games in 2010 and 2011 so it really is a breeding ground for our future sporting talent.

Organised by the Youth Sport Trust and supported by National Lottery funding from Sport England, the competition re-enforces the experience of Olympic and Paralympic Games complete with Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

Competition is held in a total of twelve current and future Olympic and Paralympic sports: Athletics, Cycling, Fencing, Gymnastics, Hockey, Judo, Rugby Sevens, Swimming, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Wheelchair Basketball and Wheelchair Tennis.

Sotic have been working with the Games for the past five years providing the Event Management System that was designed to allow for the registration of all participants at the Games, This year we have also designed and delivered the website.
